The dentist will medicate to numb the pain!. Explain to him that you've had bad experiences and that you're very nervous!.!.!.!.I have an awful fear of dentists and had to go recently!. The best thing to do is not build it up in your mind as something very traumatic and painful!. The reality is that the dentist is professional and will look after your best interests!. The pain (if any) won't last for too long!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could perhaps ask the chemist for Piriton, which is actually an antihistamine (for hay fever etc), but is one of the older ones and should make you feel a bit sleepy!. Don't drive after taking it though!. It won't numb any pain but you could also take a couple of ibuprofen 1/2 hour before you go to the dentist!. If you are having fillings etc done, the dentist should give you an injection!. Just make sure he gives the injection time to work before he starts!. And if it hurts, tell him, cos he can put more anaesthetic in if need be!. There's no need to suffer pain at the dentist these days!. I just got back from the orthodontists an hour ago after having 2 small screws placed into my jawbone, and I didn't feel a thing!. Just make sure you say something if you feel any pain!.

There is a plant/spice called "clove", tastes pretty weird, but a pinch placed near the area to be treated will have a numbing effect!. Some people I know also have used it as a remedy for halitosis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't know about pain relief, but think yourself lucky that you've got a dentist appointment!. Been waiting for over a year now for an NHS dentist that will take me - which now means I can't go private as my last check up was over 12 months ago!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Listen to one of your favorite soothing songs!. Get in your head and hum it while your there!. It helps me!. Its all in the mind!. Mind over matter!. Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
