Tooth Question- Filling giving trouble?!

Question: Tooth Question- Filling giving trouble!?
I got my first filling about a year ago!. Quite soon after I got it I started to notice that when I chewed something quite hard or crunchy on the filling, it would hurt, but it's okay to chew other softer things on it!. At first I thought it must be a cavity in the same tooth so switched to chew on the other side of my mouth!.
Eventually I plucked up the courage to go to the dentist, and I went about 3 weeks ago!. I told him I thought I had a cavity in the same tooth he filled!. He tapped and poked and came to the conclusion there was nothing wrong with the tooth!. I started to chew on the tooth again, and it's fine to chew softer foods on, but I get a quick, sharp pain through the tooth when I chew something crunchy!. What is wrong!? Has he damaged the tooth!? Why couldn't he find the problem!? He didn't take an x-ray, perhaps it's internal!?
It's worrying me, and any answers would be appreciated!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Its quite possible that you have pulpitis or inflammation of pulp!. Thats why you get a sharp, shooting pain whenever you chew something hard!. I guess a radiograph will be good at this moment to visualize any pathology periapically and if the same condition persists for few more days, you might have to undergo root canal treatment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no i had the same problem u will get a lot more local anesthesia, and it should not hurt it didn't me, if your worried try some laughing gas or ask the dentist about taking an anxiety med before your procedure (make sure to call him a couple of days b4 your appt to discuss) if you opt for an anxiety make sure someone can drive u, hope this helps everything will be fine good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
