Seems that your original dentist is one of those individuals who doesn't feel comfortable with difficult extractions or what he or she surmises will be difficult!. It's a well known fact that some DDS simply don't do extractions at all, they don't feel comfortable doing them!. As for the oral surgeon he or she should have no problem at all and can administer an anesthetic that will totally numb you!. Any pain you feel will be generated due to the surgeon having to pry the broken tooth parts away from the bone!. Once the tooth is out you follow the same instructions as if it were a regular extraction!. No sucking on straws, no smoking and no hot packs (use cold packs for the first two days), no drinking from pop bottles or pop cans!.Avoid anything that causes you to create suction, you don't want to dislodge the blood colt that forms in the empty socket!. The surgeon will most likely give you an RX for pain meds!.!.!.!.food wise, stay on a liquid or soft food diet for the first three days following the extraction!. Good luck and I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your dentist will be "knocking" you out, you ont feel a thing!. I had a tooth pulled that was pretty bad, and they only gave me nitrous!.!.!.what they did was got a hold of the toth and gently wiggled it then it proceeded to come out! Didn't take more than an hour!Www@Answer-Health@Com
