The reason most dentists want to have the infection under control before they extract a tooth is because it is hard to get your tooth numb when the infection is rampant and has a high acidic level!. Your dentist should prescribe an antibiotic to help control the infection prior to extraction!. Other than that, there really is no way to get rid of the abscess in order to pull the tooth!. Hope this helps and good luck! =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can't just drain the abscess or cut out the visibly infected part, because the surrounding tissue is also infected!. Unless you completely clear the infection, there will still be tons of bacteria present, which can infect the bloodstream or any tissue damaged by the operation!. To get rid of it surgically without antibiotics, you'd have to remove the entire infected area by cutting all the way into healthy tissue, which would mean a very large hole!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No - it is standard practice and for your safely/health to remove the infection, usually with antibiotics!. The poison could actually seep into your system during the tooth extraction!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. I had that happen also!. Just take the antibiotics and he'll pull it when it clears up!. Otherwise the infection will spread quickly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They want the infection gone so it wont spread into your gums, Just take the antibiotics so you don't have complicationsWww@Answer-Health@Com

i heard that if you get the tooth removed while it is still infected the anesthesia won't work as well!. try some antibiotics first!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

take antibiotics for 2 days prior to the appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
