Bite Plate Question?!

Question: Bite Plate Question!?
I got a bite plate and my bottom braces on monday!. The braces don't hurt that bad, except for them ripping up my lip but thats to be expected!.
I have a question about the bite plate though!. Can you take them out for eating!? I know you take it out for brushing your teeth but can you take it out for eating!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, you should take your bite plate out for eating!. That is, assuming the bite plate is for holding your jaw open due to clenching/grinding of teeth or a TMJ problem!.
If your bite plate is in, you can't chew your food properly, which can be a choking hazard and is terrible for digestion!.

A tip on taking it out, though!. Get a BRIGHTLY colored case to hold it in!. DON'T wrap it in a napkin or just lay it on your tray/napkin/table!. It will get thrown away!. Carry your case with you and you can keep one on your table at your home!.
You also need to keep it very clean!.!.!.brush it when you brush your teeth !.!.!.!.you can also use a denture cleaner on it weekly or bi-weekly to clean off any build-up!.

Good Luck!

P!.S!. Be sure to use the wax the orthodontist gave you to keep your braces from ripping up your lips and cheeks!. Run it under a little warm water first, then place it over the rough spots on your braces!. It sticks better that way and you will be less likely to lose it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on the reason for the bite plate!. Usually they are placed to allow the opposing teeth to move without intermeshing with the other teeth which will move them back to their original position, defeating the purpose!.
Don't listen to these people who say to take it out, you may be upsetting the work that the braces on the bottom are attempting to accomplish!. Call up the orthodontist and ask; that is the only real way to know!. Nobody here knows how your braces are set up, your orthodontist knows!. Ask!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hmmm im not 100% sure but id say yeah!.!.!. but i dont think it matters but food gets caught underneith any way (i think) so i dont see why not lolWww@Answer-Health@Com
