Getting braces is nerve wracking at any age so do not worry about that!. It is going to take some serious getting used to and you guys are going to have to take it slow until you learn to function with them!.

You are going to have painful days (like when they tighten them) and you just gotta get through it!. A couple of years is nothing compared to the joy you have the rest of your life :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

No it's not weird!. Age has no bearing on wanting a pretty smile!. Braces are so small now, that it is not the eye catching thing it once was!. I had mine for 3 years and actually had more guys hitting on me!. I was in college at the time!. Don't worry about it, you'll look fine!. Plus, your man knows you're getting them and why, so take his support and tell anyone who comments to jump off!. LOL Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

lol hey congratulations on making the right choice!. I made the decision to get braces for the SAME reason [i want to smile like a pinhead at my wedding]
i just had them fitted this morning and im getting used to them
just think of all those beautiful wedding pics ;)
good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

there is something called invisalign!. Look into it!. It will make you feel a lot better!. You don't have to get braces!. These were especially made for adults who needed braces but everyone can get it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Awesome for you!
Twenty-one is a fine age to get braces at!. However, make sure to tell the guy that you are getting the braces; don't just show up with them one day!Www@Answer-Health@Com

getting braces is fine!.!. 75% of us all have them!.!.!.don't worry, in the longterm, u will look better when you get ur braces removed and ur teeth r straight!. they don't hurt, i had them!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i got my braces on today, they look awesome but hurt soo muchWww@Answer-Health@Com

I am in an adult in braces (got them at age 25), so I can totally relate to your anxiety! Braces are stereotypically thought of for kids and teens, but that isn't true anymore!. Many, many, MANY adults are now getting them and braces!.

One of the reasons I chose my ortho's office was because they had a track record with treating adults, not just children!. I didn't want to go into an office and be surrounded by little kids all the time --- I wanted to be surrounded by people of all ages getting their bites fixed, teeth straightened, and their jaws worked on!. I wanted an office that didn't focus on how strange it might be for some of us to be getting braces for the first time as adults or even getting them for the second time as adults!. My ortho office made putting braces on adults an extremely comfortable and normal thing - they also addressed "adult issues" with me in the office during my consult and have been excellent on the phone to answer my questions since I got my braces and have had trouble now and then!.

http://www!.archwired!.com is where I have found a lot of support while going through braces!. They have a discussion board that is geared toward adults!. Any and all questions are brought up there, not to mention the main site can answer questions from what type of braces are available to more intimate relationship questions that sometimes come up with wearing braces (including kissing and OTHER things)!. This discussion board has been so supportive!. There are adults going through braces all over the world that post there and many post progress pictures, which I find very encouraging!.

I can promise you that you are not alone in this!. Many adults feel strange wearing braces, but there are ways to cope with this!.!.!. especially in the beginning!. Eventually, the insecurity will go away and you will start smiling extra wide with your new accessory!Www@Answer-Health@Com
