you really only feel it for a millisecond
dont worry, sweetie
i've got a horrible phobia of needles & dentists & pretty low pain tolerence!. im a total baby when it comes to things like taht, but i've gotten at least 20 shots in my mouth this year!.
it's like a tiny tiny pinch then its over
you can slap yourself and it wont hurt afterwards, its great!.
oh, and the dentist will most likely have some gel-ish cream stuff they apply over the spot!. it'll make you feel the pain lessWww@Answer-Health@Com

The most important thing to remember in effort to minimize the discomfort of getting the shot, is to relax your face/mouth muscles!. When you tense up, it makes the delivery of the anesthtic that more difficult, resulting in the soreness u dread experiencing!. Your best bet is to close your eyes, and keep reminding yourself to relax your muscles!. If you feel comfortable with your dentist, you can ask him before-hand to deliver the anesthetic slowly, which also helps tremendously with making getting numb a more comfortble experience!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have the same exact problem!. I had 4 teeth pulled in the last 2 weeks and that was 3 shots each time!. When i go to the dentist i always take advil or some kind of pain medication and it helps me!. Whatever you do dont look at the shot!. I always look up at the ceiling because if i close my eyes its like i can see the needle going in!. If you do take a pain medication take it at least 30 minutes before you go in!. I hope this helps!. I feel your pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
