Are you in the UK!? If yes and the tooth is one of the front 4 (upper or lower) then the rule used to be that these can be repaired free on the NHS - but try getting an NHS appointment!!
Anywhere else and you'll have to pay for the check-up, x-rays and then the work which could involve a bit of tooth re-building or maybe smoothing down the rough bits with the burr of the drill!. Sounds painful, but you'll be numbed up!

I have a chipped front tooth and as it's front, it was repaired totally free of charge, and on the NHS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Amazingw is incorrect that you would get if free in UK on NHS!. You get it cheaper on NHS but not free (unless you are a child or on Social Security)!. This would probably need crowning and (I think) the NHS price for a crown is about
