ok, there could be alot of different things going on with your teeth, you could simply have sensitive teeth and could try brushing with a sensitivity tooth paste or a flouride toothpaste!. however the fact that you say that its a lasting pain makes me think that you could in fact have something bigger going on!. if the cold sensitive tooth has a lingering pain following the cold exposure then you may have a problem with the nerve inside your tooth and you should have it checked by a dentist!.!.!.sometimes in this case the nerve inside the tooth is not doing too well and will need to be removed with a root canal treatment!.!.!.but dont jump to conclusions, you should have your dentist do a thourogh exam and take a radiograph to see if there is any big problem going on for sure!. and also just remember that if your tooth does end up needing a root canal, its not that big of a deal, root canals have a bad name but the worst part about them is that they take a bit of a longer appointment to have them done and its really boring-but you will be numb and comfortable, and dont be surprised if your dentist refers you to an endodontist *(a root canal specialist) because alot of general dentists choose not to do those procedures!. good luck and dont worry!. You could have a cavity (decay), gum recession resulting in sensitivity, or a fractured tooth!.
You need to see a dentist ASAP!. If you are lucky, they problem can be fixed with something as easy as a filling!. If you have deep decay or a fractured tooth, you may need a root canal and a crown or even an extraction!.
Doing it sooner as opposed to later is better, since you are experiencing pain, and everytime the nerve feels something, it is being stimulated and you are running the risk of pushing the nerve over its threshold and causing it to die!. That for sure would lead to a root canal or an extraction!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Root canal is what the oral surgeon does to you to get rid of cavities and other nasty tooth problems!. You probably need a dentist to see if you have an exposed nerve!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you could just have sensitive teeth!.
try sensodine toothpaste, its supposed to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
