How much pain do you think I'll be in?!

Question: How much pain do you think I'll be in!?
Tomorrow I'm having my wisdom teeth out!. I guess they are both impacted!. I have one that came out a little bit, and one on the other side is verticle, not slanted or anything, but the surgeon said he did have to remove bone to get it out!. I will have IV sedation!.

I have two small kids, husband will watch them the day of extractions!. Do you think I will be in horrible pain the day after!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I had my wisdom teeth out under sedation (the only way to go)!. I was pretty miserable for about 3 days after the surgery - was in a fair amount of pain but more than that was just really tired and grumpy!.

Warning - you will probably be fairly nauseous after you come out of the sedation!. Barfing right after isn't fun!. So just take it really slow because at first the numbing is still there so you feel a lot better than you will about 5 hours after the proceedure!. Do not over estimate how well you will be feeling the next day cause trust me, you won't be that great!.

As a mom, I know darn well that you have to talk (or yell) at them fairly often!. If there is any way that you can get a friend or the hubby to watch them for that second day I'd highly recommend it so that you can lay on the couch in a pleasant drug haze rather than running after your kids!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it really shouldn't hurt much, I am 16 and i have to get mine removed soon, my friend told me it really doesnt hurt because they give you pain meds, he said it didnt hurt much until about three days after the removal and then it hurts for about 2 days!.!.!.you just have to make sure you don't get any dry pockets, then it would hurt a lot!.!.!.they seal shut the wounds with some dental stitches and if break any of the stitches then the wound opens up and it dries out creating what is called a dry pocket and then you have to go back in to get it repaired, just make sure you dont do anything athletic like mowing the lawn or basketball!.!.!.also don't eat hard foods like chips and even with soft foods dont chew with the area where the teeth were!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello, If your surgeon is talented and provides you with the proper instructions, pain control for the post extraction period and antibiotics, you should do very well!. The second day could be a little dicey but that will depend on what if any unusual extraction issues the DDS runs into!.!.!.Whats really really important is that you exactly follow the post extraction instructions you will be given!.!.!.no smoking, no sucking on straws, no drinking from pop bottles or can and use cold packs, not hot packs!.!.!.!.after 12 hours begin to rinse "gently" with a 10% salt water solution every four hours!.!.!.Food wise, liquid and very soft foods!.!.!.liquid meals such as yo can get from the pharmacy is good to use for the first three day's!.!.!.and of course good ole ice cream is great!. Don't attempt to drink very warm or hot liquids as they will melt the blood clots and you don't want that to happen!.!.!.loosing a blood clot sets you up for a possible Dry Socket!.!.!.not a fun thing ti deal with!.!.!.!.Goos luck and I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Obviously you will need someone to drive you home!. I'm sure the dr will give you something for pain!. Maybe Tylenol with Codeine!. ASK for pain reliever, don't be afraid!. You'll be sore, but get someone to help with the kids for a couple of days just in case!. Hope things go well!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have impacted molars and my dentist told me that if they don't hurt that they don't need to be removed!. So do you impacted molars hurt you!? 'Cuz if not, I'd be cancelling the appointment, it sounds painful!. But on the plus side they will be giving you pain meds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will be in pain for about three days after the sedative wears off!.I am sure the Dentist will give you medication to take but it usually it isn't that strong!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They should shoot you up with analgesics so powerful you'll be knocked out within seconds and you'll be in la-la-land throughout the whole procedure!. You'll be fine the next day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well it's safe to say you are a hick, c'mon take care of your teeth hill billy!Www@Answer-Health@Com
