I got my wisdom teeth out last week, and yeah!. It sucks!. Big time!. They gave me an IV sedation and I only woke up once towards the end, when they were hurting me a little!. (More like discomfort!.) My boyfriend had to take me and drive me home, and you will be unable to eat solid foods for at least a day or two!. So, get some pudding, apple sauce, soup, jello, or ice cream, and get ready for unpleasant stuff afterwards!.
Most likely, he'll give you a pain medication, but I only used the Vicodin for 3 or 4 days after the surgery, after that, tylenol and advil are fine, your teeth and gums will just feel sore and inflamed!. It is important to keep brushing your teeth though, as soon as you feel comfortable (I did maybe the second day after the surgery) because you need to keep bacteria out of your mouth, so you don't get an infection!.
Other than that, try to refrain from hot things for the first day (like soup or tea) because your mouth will probably be numbed for a few hours, and it'll come right back out until you get feeling back!.
Anyway, I got mine done on a Thursday, and by Monday I was back at work, and eating almost solid foods like pasta!. You'll make it! Good luck!
OH!.!.and for the first day or 2, I wouldn't recommend mouthwash with alcohol in it!.!.!.it'll burn!. Alcoholic beverages aren't a great idea either for the ftist 48 hours!. :o)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got all four teeth done without insurance for 750 dollars!. That included the kick *** gas that they used to make me feel great!. Not to mention I had an infection and cavities in all four teeth!. They really arent that expensive to get pulled and overall you notice the difference in a few days!. Your gums will be tender for a few days and you might notice bone spurs!.!.!.sharp fragments that start above the gum line!.!.!.protrude your gums making them a little more sensitive!. This is completely normal and any great dentist will actually minimize these spurs by making sure they do a good job removing the entire structure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It all depends on what your insurance will cover!. Call them and ask!. They usually can put you all the way under with anesthesia or mildly under with laughing gas!. Do the anesthesia!. I had laughing gas and I could hear them talking during the surgery and feel them moving my mouth!. If your not in to feeling like an alien is probing you without the ability to stop them dont get the gas!. Anesthesia is way better!. Anyway about your insurance!. Whatever they don't cover you will!. If you dont want any surprises make sure you cover expenses with your dental office!. I wasn't expecting one and when I saw a $400 bill I almost lost my mind!. They will give you Novocaine most likely!. It's the cheapest way to go and Insurance companies sure don't mind that!. It is very effective, and you won't feel a thing!. make sure you stock up on Ibuprofen, and things that are soft to eat like yogurt, ICE-CREAM, cottage cheese!. The ice-cream is a plus, it soothes and reduces swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Laughing gas does cost and I am pretty sure the insurance will not cover it so you will have to do this calm and take slow deep breaths!.

They will give you nova-cane shots a bunch of them around where your teeth will be extracted then right before they begin they will give you gas!. It's only expensive if you decide to get totally put out!. You will feel NOTHING!. Just a bit of pressure from the docs fist on your chin because he's pulling really hard!. Then after the procedure you'll get a prescription for percacet or vicatin!.!.!. you'll LOVE these! When I had mine done all 4 of them it was a piece a cake!.!.!.I felt no pain & it was fun taking it easy and being on the pain medication!. Lots of soft foods: ice cream, noodles etc!. You'll be fine! & ask to see them (your teeth) it's so crazy!Www@Answer-Health@Com
when i got my wisdom teeth pulled out about 1!.5 years ago, they put me to sleep and then it was over by the time i woke up!.
but my friend said that he did it awake, and they just numbed his jaw while performing the surgery!.
