Question: What do I do if my retainers have broken!?
I have clear retainers, the kind that its over your teeth like a protective covering!. I accidentally broke the bottom almost in half because I put them in my pocket while I was sitting in my dad's car!. The bottom isn't completely split into half, but it's very close!.
How can I brush the bottom half without breaking it completely!? Also, is it hard to fix it!? I'm going back to the dentists in a week, and that's when I'm changing my top clear retainer for one of those metal kinds!. I'm not sure if I'm changing my bottom half, though!.
Couldn't you guys tell me how to fix my broken retainers, and how to clean them so that they don't split in half completely!?
Also, is it possible to fix my retainers by using fire and melting the plastic together!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try cleaning them gently with a soft toothbrush, supporting them in your hand so they don't split!.
I don't think it's a good idea to try fixing them yourself, especially not by melting them! Don't try glue-ing them either, in case it reacts with the plastic or is toxic!.
Give your dentist a call to tell him/her what's happened, so that they can decide what to do before you go in for your next appointment!. It shouldn't take long for them to make up a new clear retainer - if they have a vacuum-forming machine in the surgery, they can be made instantly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should just leave the retainer as it is and when you go to the dentist they will be able to fix it for you but it might take a while so you might have to come in at your next check up appointment to get the retainer!.
