Question: Braces are coming off!!?
ok im getting my braces off and im excited!.!.!.but worried! i have to wear a retainer, they said, until im like 40!!!!! im 14! what if i dont wear my retainer for like 5 minutes!?!!?!!?!!? will my teeth go back to the way they were!? bucktoothed and overbited!?!? please help calm my nerves! ugh its making my phsoriasis act up!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

get permenant retainers or at least ask for them!.!.!. you are more then likley to stop using the normal retainers and your teeth will then start to shift and you will have to go back and get braces again!.!.!. its REALLY important that you were your retainer ALL the time because if you get into the habbit of "forgeting" to wear your retainer you will eventually wont want to were your retainer cause the feeling of not having it is WAAY better then the feeling of wearing the retainer!.!. If you do end up not wearing it or "forgetting" to wear it your teeth will shift within a months time and your orthodontist will have you back in braces again!.!. maybe for not as long but you will have to wear braces again!.!. that is if you want straight teeth!.!. if you dont care and you dont go to regular orthodontist appoitments and such even after you "forget" to wear your retainer you will REGRET it!.!.!. ask your orthodontist about the permenant retainers!.!. the ones where they put it in your teeth permenantly!.!. my orthodontist has one and he had his for 30 years he said!.!.!. he also reccomended it to me after i get my braces so getting the "normal" braces is not even an option especially with all the information he told me regarding NOT wearing the reguar retainers!.!.!.
wear your regular retainer for now but contact your ortho and ask him about the permenant retainers!.!. tell him your worreid about accidently "forgetting" and then not wanting to wear the normal retainers and having your teeth shift back and then having to get braces all over again!.!.!.

and just to let you know as you grow older your teeth will start to shift ALOT and even when your 40 your teeth will start to shift even more!.!.!. as long as your living your teeth will shift and that is what happens when you dont wear your retainers! im telling you get the permenant ones!.!.!. or else you will most definatly regret it and regret the fact that you listend to everyone who says to "only wear it at night" etc etc!.!.!. talk to your ortho he will tell you! And plus you havent even gotten in your wisdom teeth and you usually get them as an adult!.!. so to prevent your teeth from shifting when you DO get them you will HAVE to wear your retainers!.!. and then have to have those teeth extracted depending on how bad it is!.!.!. and if you dont then again you will have to wear braces again and your teeth will be bucktoothed and you will have an overbite!.!. all because you didnt wear your retainers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
