All depends on the extent of chipping!. Sometimes the dentist can take a bur on a handpiece and just file it smooth!. Other times you can takes a small portion of bonding material and bond it into the chipped area, you must be super careful with this type of bonding!. It will come off easily if you bite into things, and not always hard things, bread is a big culprit!. In extreme cases you may need a crown, if say half the tooth or more is gone!. Another option might be a veneer, you would have to ask if you are a candidate for that!. Those are also fragile, but very beautiful!. If you have to have a crown I suggest a porcelain jacket crown, it doesn't have a metal substructure and looks more natural!.

I had a chipped tooth once!. My dentist fixed it!. It was no big deal!. The chipped tooth was on top 2nd to the right!. Dentist just put some type of bonding stuff on it!. they matched the shade up perfectly!. It felt different for a few weeks, but after that it felt perfectly normal!. and it also looks normal!. I'm very satisfied, and I wished I would of had it done sooner!. It cost me 80 bucks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
