My Mouth Is In Pain!!! What Is This??!
Question: My Mouth Is In Pain!!! What Is This!?!?
Wisdom tooth!? I think!. But please tell me!.
I brush thoroughly, twice a day, like any other person but for the past few days I have been in hell!.
All of the sudden the back of my right jaw is in stabbing pain!. I see a wisdom tooth show up in the back left but it's not what's hurting!. There's a flap of skin above it that I keep biting down on!. Worse than that!.!.!. it's shooting pain constantly through the whole left side of my mouth!.
My gums on the left side and suddenly become very tender that I can't even brush any longer without bleeding and pain!. To top that off, the skin behind my bottom lip feels like sandpaper has taken to it a few times over!.
I'm calling a dentist as soon as they open!.!.!. WHAT IS THIS!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The flap of gum sitting on top or just behind your wisdom tooth is called the 'operculum'!. What you have is called 'pericoronitis'!.
The only reason why it is sore, is only because you haven't been brushing your teeth very well and now there is gum infection!. When gums become infected, it will become swollen and start bleeding on touching!. The pain is also from the swollen gums because you keep biting on it!.
When can go see the dentist, he/she will relieve the upper tooth (shave a bit of the enamel off - it's only very little !.!. enough for you to stop biting your gums and it won't hurt!), clean the gums on the bottom, ask you to use warm salty mouthwash and keep that area clean!. It will still take 3--5 days to heal totally, but at least you can now eat!.
In the meanwhile, take ibuprofen, rinse with warm salty water and brush/wipe the area as clean as you can until you see your dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know, but calling the dentist is the best thing to do, especially since you're bleeding!. Any open wound in your mouth can lead to an infection!. Get in as soon as you can!. Tooth pain is unbelievably painful!.
