Question: Braces causing paaaaaain!!?
I just got my braces put on yesterday, and they are killing me!. It's just incredibly painful, what more can I say!? I need tips as to bring the hurt down!. I've tried taking Mydol and Tylenol, but they didn't really help very much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got mine on a week ago so I know how you feel!.
Mine don't hurt now at all if thats any consolation!.
While they still hurt (it usually is just a day, possibly 2) my orthodontist said take your normal headache medicine like Paracetamol but I found that ibuprofen worked better as it was stronger!. Just make sure you don't mix too many medicines or have too much of them!.
In a day they'll be perfectly fine and they wont hurt much at all, unless your eating!. Try and stick to as much liquid food as you can (Porridge, rice pudding, yogurts!.!.) and then you can try something like pasta when your teeth feel slightly better (took me about 3 or 4 days till I could chew pasta)
If they are cutting your lips or cheek, try bonjela and use the wax if the orthodontist gave you some!.
The main thing to remember is that it only last for a very short amount of time!.!. I've only had my braces for a week but I'm completely used to them and I only notice them when I eat, brush my teeth, or think about them!.

Go to your local pharmacist and get some:
Ambesol Gel
Oragel
Bonjela
rub that on the gums whenever you need it, oh and eat lots and lots of icecream or if u dont have some icecream try suckin on an ice cube!.
That should reduce the pain, if that fails get on the phone to the dentist and see what he recommends!.
