Electric toothbrushes do a lot of good for a lot of people!. With my experience, the patient's I see who use them have cleaner teeth (less plaque and tartar)!. They work better because the head of the brush can vibrate faster then your hand can!. Plus, you can just hold your brush in one spot and it will do the work for you! Nice! Manual toothbrushes have to potential to work just as well, but the technique has to be correct and you have to brush for at least 2 minutes!.
The nice thing about electric toothbrushes (the rechargeable kind with the base, which is what I recommend) have 2 minute timers so you know how long to brush!. Also, the Oral B has a sensor where if you are brushing to hard the vibration will stop!. I use a sonicare myself, but brand doesn't matter too much!. It's more about preference!. I recommend going to a store where they are out of the box and on display and she which features you like!. It is annoying to buy new heads for them, but I get mine at Sam's club!.
They do take a little bit of getting used to!. The vibration at first can be a little overwhelming!.
Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I recommend them especially for problems such as braces, crown and bridge work, gum disease and recession!. They have a timer in them, which helps people realize how long to brush!. Most people brush less than a minute!. Timers usually go 2 minutes!. I prefer the type that don't require battery changes!. The rechargeable type have more power and therefore more effective!. I have seen people brush very well with a manual brush, but when a patient has problems getting their teeth clean, then I encourage the electric type to help them!. Another good reason for the electric brush is the size of the handle!. Those with Arthritis don't have to grip such a small handle and it helps with dexterity too!.
Because you are keeping your teeth more clean with an electric brush then you are hopefully keeping your dental needs down to a minimum!. The money you save will be much more than paying a few extra dollars every 3 or 4 months for brush heads!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Personally, I like using the old fashion toothbrush using your own elbow grease!. The vibration and crickley bristles on those automatic ones are just plain painful!. They may only cost a couple more bucks, and have been proven to clean teeth better, but you have to charge them, and they can sometimes get in the way of trying to get way back to your molars!.

So I'll be sticking with my auto-labor one, hehe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My dentist states that the automatic tooth brush works better at helping fight gum disease, such asd: receeding gum lines and so forth!. He says to let the brush do the work and leave the manuel toothbrushes alone!. Sometimes we (not dentists) scrub too hard with manuals; it hurts the gums!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As an older person with dental problems I see two types of dentist every three months!. The oral surgeon does not think to highly of them!. he feels users tends to harm their gums by either pressing to hard or not properly!. Regular dentist thinks they are okay for some users, but not all!. So my oralB and Sonicare sit in the closet collecting dust!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should use manual because maybe the automatic gets wreaked and you wouldn't have anything to brash your teeth with and then you have to go to the shops and buy another one and you will be wasting moneyWww@Answer-Health@Com

they are said to be better, and its easier to brush your teeth, but the hassle is that you have to change batteries, and heads!. Sometimes the battery leaks, and breaking the brush!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well manual ones are as good as automatic ones cuz the manual ones are controled by YOU and you kno what to do

:D

i c those thumbs downs comingWww@Answer-Health@Com
