Think of it this way: the anaesthetist gives you a drug which can temporarily stop your brain from functioning!. If he gives you too much, you do not wake up again!. So he (she) very carefully poisons you until you are close to death and then holds you there very carefully while the surgery is done and then stops the drug and you come back from near death and are very happy!. Some people would not like me saying this, but it is true!.
On the flip side, this is done every day by thousands of anaesthetists to millions of people so it is well controlled, so don't worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the medication blocks the nerve from sending and receiving impulses!. the medication is like a key into a lock--- only the right key will turn the lock, but there are "master keys" that turn all locks (shuts off the the nerve from doing its job) the medication you might get is a local, certain key for that lock (mouth/gum) and something to relax you!. or they may hit you with the master key (fully asleep)-- you wake up later!. either way, unless you have a sensativity or allergy, you won't die!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
