What is the difference between wisdom teeth and 12 year old molars!.
(besides the fact that you get 12 year old molars when you are 12, and wisdom teeth when you are 15-21)

12 year molars are more formally known as second molars and wisdom teeth are known as third molars!.
Mandibular (lower) second molars have four cusps with a cross shaped groove pattern on the chewing surface and two roots which curve distally!.
Mandibular third molars also have four cusps with two roots that are fused together!. The root apices are sharp and curve distally!. Third molars are are the most unpredictable teeth in the mouth with the most anomalies, deviations or entirely missing!.
Maxillary (upper) second molars can have either a heart shaped crown or a rhomboidal crown outline!. Depending on the crown type it could have 3 or 4 cusps!. This tooth has three roots; mesial, distal and lingual!.
Maxillary third molars also have a smaller crown than the second molar and it too can be a heart or rhomboidal outline, thus 3 or 4 cusps!. It has three roots that are fused and curve distally!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
