Tooth [Chain] Question *help*?!

Question: Tooth [Chain] Question *help*!?
I have a permanent tooth coming in above my baby tooth!. My family has a history of keeping our baby teeth for longer than the average person!. They suggested that I pull the baby tooth before the permanent tooth comes in any farther, but we procrastinated and it is now coming through the side of my gum and slightly down over my baby tooth!.

My question is, is there an estimate to how long it will take for the chain to bring down my permanent tooth if it is already almost out over my baby tooth!?

Also, is the chain very obvious!?

I really hope that the tooth can be brought down into it's correct position before summer is over!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you have braces and there's a chain pulling down the tooth to level it!? Answering that is hard to say!. Everyone is different with how fast their teeth move and if it's an elastic chain (rubber-ish one!?) it all depends on how often you're going in & getting it changed!. Those chains lose their elasticity over time!. So if this is the case, make sure you don't miss those appointments so it can be changed on a regular basis!.

Hopefully the orthodontist can get a nickel/titanium archwire (aka "Niti" wire into the bracket because that wire is very active and can move the tooth really well!. That's assuming you have braces, of course : )

Hope this helps!.

For what it's worth, this is really not that uncommon!. Most people won't really take notice!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
