I don't understand what they did to your gum, a root canal is performed going up through the tooth to clean out the decayed nerve, unless they lanced a abcess!? They should of put you on antibiotics and some pain meds to help with the discomfort!. It's normal for the tooth to be a little sore for a while but it shouldn't be a throbbing pain!. Call your dentist on Monday, they may need to go back in there to clean it out more!. Until then take Ibuprofen and apply a cold compress or drink really cold ice water! Hang in there it will get better, and it should be fairly soon, like days not months!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it takes a good 6 weeks to two months before the soreness and stuff subsides!. it can take awhile to get over the stuff of being touchy about this side but it will go away and its worth it so take your time you can use the toothpast with sensititve stuff for awhile that always helps!. take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Last time I had a root canal, the area was sore for about a week!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
