TMJ (locked jaw) and oral sex - embarassing but serious question?!

Question: TMJ (locked jaw) and oral sex - embarassing but serious question!?
First off, I have TMJ and I do wear mouth guards at night to prevent teeth clenching and grinding!. I don't chew gum or eat hard, crunchy food or else my jaws will be sore!.

When I'm giving my boyfriend oral pleasure, my jaws gradually starts to close and then eventually lock shut (all within 5 minutes)!. My jaws will literally not open for a couple minutes afterwards!. Then I try again, and then my jaws close up (probably less than 2 minutes this time)!. So then after the 2nd time, I don't even try again because my jaws are completely locked and sore!. My boyfriend understands and doesn't want me to try but sometimes, I really want to!.!.!.so it's frustrating!.

The same thing happens if I open my mouth wide to eat big things like a big deli sandwich or hamburgers!.

Since I have not found anything online about this, I am wondering if I have a severe case of TMJ and perhaps need surgery!? Or is this something that's common and I have to just live with!? Any advice!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hah that's funny, about a month ago I had the same problem, I get tmj from my grandfather (my mom has it too) anyway, I had a locking up situation similar to yours-- even still it hurts to give him oral sex for a long time!. I do it until it becomes too painful then I stop!. I waited about 2 weeks before I even tried to give him oral sex again though!.
My advice would be to talk to a TJM specialist about the problems (you don't need to go into detail about the oral sex, but mention the deli sandwiches and hamburgers)!. The TMJ specialist will tell you if surgery is the best thing for ya!. My mom was going to get the surgery but it's really expensive, and our dental doesn't cover it-- so she and I are just going to have to live with it!. My mom has TMJ a lot worse than mine is-- then again she's about 40 years older than I am too, so I'll probably be the same way when I'm her age!. She has to cut all of her food up into small pieces and can't eat fatty pieces of meat, or anything that's too chewy!. She's also not supposed to eat raw vegetables!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
