Question: Braces!?! Gums showing when I smile!.!?
My gums show a lot when I smile!. I've had braces for 2 and a half years now!. So since my gums are so puffy, it looks really bad!. It's mostly the right side though!. Would the braces correct this problem!? Would it make my smile smaller!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

ohhhh i had that problem too!!! i hated how much my gums showed!.
braces don't fix this unfortunently, but it's usually the cause of your puffy gums, because braces stop you from cleaning you teeth as well, gums become inflamed because of bacteria and a lack of good oral hygiene!. to decrease the puffy-ness make sure you floss everynight and spend extra time brushing between your braces!.
as for your gums, I had a surgery in which they trim your gums down so there isn't that much showing!. in the end it looks great and your teeth appear bigger because the gum is taken away!. the procedure didn't hurt at all!. they numb your gums then cut away!. i know this sounds pretty gross!.!.!.but it works!. you should try asking your dentist if that procedure is available!. hope that helped! braces won't really change much of how your gums show!.!.!.
just control how much you pull your lips up when you smile and try not to show as much gum!. it'll become a habit!.
