Wisdom tooth extracted, stitched up gums came apart?!
Question: Wisdom tooth extracted, stitched up gums came apart!?
I had a bottom wisdom tooth pulled a week ago!. The tooth was partly out and after the extraction I had my gums stitched back together, so that I had no visible socket!. Since then each day I've been looking into the area to see how things were going, and noticed that each day the gum "sank in" a little more!. Then yesterday, to my horror lol, I noticed that the sutures had finally dissolved away and that my gums had now come apart because of it!. Now I have a hole in my mouth, which is something I've been squeamish about!. Is this supposed to happen!? I thought once stitched up my gums would grow together that way!.
Also, now that my gums have opened up, the area has become a bit sore when I rinse and from time to time I feel pain there for no reason!. The pain is not bad, but Im confused as I feel like Im going backwards!. When my gums were still closed up and I had no hole in my mouth, there was no pain, not even a couple of days after the extraction!.
So am I still healing properly!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The stitching doesnt matter!. and your stitching didnt come apart, it dissolved!. Stictching used in oral extraction procedures (such as wisdom teeth) are dissolvable!. Therefore after a few days the stiching will dissolve!. You dont need to worry because the blood has already clotted so you'll be fine!. This is the expected thing to happen!.
and the socket/hole that you feel is normal!. It will fill in itself in a few weeks and you dont have to worry!. The random pains exist because your gums are still a little traumatized from the procedure!. Don't worry, your case is completely normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
