1!. Brush and floss regularly!. You should brush 3x a day and floss every evening!.
2!. See your dentist every 6 months (more or less often, as he/she recommends) for cleaning and evaluation!.
3!. Invest in a Waterpik http://www!.waterpik!.com/oral-health-prod!.!.!. These are excellent for oral health!.

The major cause of tooth loss isn't cavities!. It's gingivitis, or inflammation of the gums!. Long-term gingivitis can also contribute to cardiac disease, as inflammation in one part of the body can damage your overall health!. After a while, gingivitis becomes periodontitis and the root/bone part of the tooth simply "disintegrates"!.

Once your gums recede, they do not grow back!.

I have had five gum grafts due to receding gums!. Tissue is cut from the roof of your mouth and stitched over the receding area!. It hurts!. It takes a long time to heal!. It's expensive!.

Another two methods to treat receding gums are described in this article: http://www!.wisegeek!.com/what-can-i-do-ab!.!.!.

Your dentist should be your first resource about receding gums!. Since we can't see how far yours have receded or how deep the bacteria "pockets" may be, we can't tell you exactly what to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your gums arent getting eaten away, their receding!. You might want to go to a Dentist and get a cleaning then tell them your problem even though they might tell you before you get the chance!. Then they can refer you to a Periodontist in your area depending on the insurance you have!. Its very common and is a basic procedure!. Don't worry, I have to have this done as well and I am 21!. sucks!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you need to see a Periodontist because your gums are receding!. Your dentist can refer you to someone and together they can plot a course of action so that you don't lose your teeth and can make your gums healthy again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to see a dentist for a professional cleaning and start brushing/flossing more!. A cleaning should be done every 6 mths!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
