Are you getting iv sedation, gas, or just being numbed!? I had all four -two lower ones badly impacted, with extremely long roots :( - extracted under iv sedation!. I went in to the dentist, felt a slight pinch on my hand, and then it felt like the next moment I was awake again and they were done!. I went home, took my med's (have someone pick these up for you, so you can take them right away) and fell asleep!. I slept practically the whole first day, and so felt no pain!! The second day is the worst, with swelling and bruising, and being hungry but unable to eat (pudding/jello/broth works well), but the dentist will give you pain med's for the pain!. I was given tylenol 3, and only had to take them a day and a half, as the pain was minimal, and tylenol/advil did the trick after that!.
Your jaw may be sore for a number of days afterwards (as they had to prop it open to get at your teeth) and your other teeth may ache because of the extractions!. All in all it shouldn't be too bad- just follow the dentists instructions on what to eat, how to clean with salt water after a couple of days, etc!. and you will be fine!. Just don't smoke, suck thru a straw, in order not to risk a dry socket, because then you WILL be in pain, and pain med's won't do a thing for you!. Don't worry about it, as soon as you get home take a dose of your pain med's, and fall asleep!. Have someone wake you when it is time for your next dose, so that you always have some in your system, and repeat!!!! It isn't as bad as the horror stories you hear, as long as you stay on top of your med's (I did for 2 days just to make sure, because I was told 2nd day was worse, and then just took med's (advil type) as needed)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no!. i had all 4 pulled at the same time!. they give you pain medicine so it isn't so bad!. the recovery is incredibly quick!. go ahead and get all 4 done at once!. it isn't bad!. get it all over with in one procedure!. you will be surprised how easy this really is to recover from!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You won't feel a thing during the extraction!. There is some pain and discomfort for a few days afterward, mostly a dull ache, but your oral surgeon can prescribe something to take care of that!. Don't worry, as far as procedures go, this one is no big deal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
