How can I stop my Girlfriend from grinding her teeth at night?!

Question: How can I stop my Girlfriend from grinding her teeth at night!?
Answers:
First of all, you can't make her stop grinding her teeth!. This condition is called nocturnal bruxism, and she does this in her sleep and she can't help it!. But I also understand that it is incredibly irritating to the loved one next to her in the bed, as you most likely have to try and sleep and you can hear her grinding her teeth :)

But there are a couple of things she can do!. She can go to the pharmacy and pick up a kit that can make a mouth guard!. The instructions tell you how to make one!.

Second choice is that she can go and see a dentist, and he or she can make a custom dental mouth guard!. It is more expensive, but sometimes insurance covers some of the cost, and it is really a better alternative, because it will be absolutely custom fit to her mouth!.

She does need to do something though, because bruxism can cause issues!. It can lead to the destruction of her teeth over time, as she is literally grinding the enamel away!. She can also develop TMJ issues!. TMJ in itself is not a disease!. TMJ stands for temporo-mandibular joint!. It is the joint where your upper jaw meets the lower jaw, and continuous grinding will eventually cause pain, soreness, or stiffness in that area of her face!. The mouth guard will protect her from all of this!. I hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
