I just got braces and they hurt, help?!

Question: I just got braces and they hurt, help!?
I just got my braces on and there is a small prece at the back that sticks out, this rubs against the inside of my cheek and its getting quite sore!. Can i use or put anything on it to stop it!. Any suggestions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Dry the area with a tissue, then put wax over the wire or thing that is sticking out (bracket, wire, spring, etc!.!.!.)!. Use some Oragel or Ambesol on the sore itself, which should numb it up just fine!. Take some Advil/ Motrin/ or Tynellol for overall aches!.

Don't be afraid of the wax, just try not to use it at night!. Your mouth will toughen up within a week or so!.

Hang in there!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When my daughter had braces the dentist gave her some pieces of red wax to put on any sharp bits, did yours give you something similar!? If so, then rub it onto the sharp bit to make it feel comfy!. Alternately, if you can get at it with a small emery board, then try filing it with the emery board gently to smooth it over, a trick recommended to me by my dentist!. You can always get back to your dentist if it persists!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Did they give you any wax!? You put that on the spot thats poking you if you have it!. Also for pain just take some pain killers everytime it's bugging you, I just got braces also and It only took a half a week for the pain to stop!. If you don't have any wax you can use something like it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had braces for a collective total of 6 years now, and had this happen countless times!. For the moment, i would suggest putting a tiny bit of wax on the end!. To fix this permanently, make an appointment with your orthodontist, to get that either bent or cut off!. Eventually your mouth will get a lot tougher from braces!. I could probably chew nails now, lol!. Good luck, and hang in there!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call your orthodontist to have the wire trimmed!. if it is part of the bracket, then put relief wax on it!. unfortunatlely, it takes some getting used too for things like that!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you get wax, the main, good company that makes them is G!.U!.M!. then slip it over the sharp spotWww@Answer-Health@Com

you can sometimes get a special wax from you dentist to put on it otherwise just tell your dentist and he/she could cut it off!.
