What is dry socket?!

Question: What is dry socket!?
Answers:
Well, it's awful!. When you get a tooth pulled, the blood needs a chance to clot over the hole!. Dry socket is when this doesn't happen, and the bone is exposed, along with the nerve!. This can happen a day or two after the extraction, and last for several days!.
To prevent it, just simply follow the dentist's instructions! No smoking, no sucking on a straw - or any sucking!. Even something like sneezing and coughing can dislodge the clot!. Keep food away!.
I had this once, and once was definitely enough - it's very painful!Www@Answer-Health@Com

For your gums to heal there needs to be a blood clot there to keep the air out!. A dry socket is when the blood clot is either sucked out or isn't there!. That is why the dentist tells you not to suck through a straw or smoke!. If the blood clot is gone air and/or bacteria can go into the hole where the root was!. It is very painful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
