2!. They inject you with a numbing thing, this could be in more than one area because you have four cavities!. (this is the painful part)
3!. After that it's nothing but when you're done the numbing stuff makes your lip feel huge! (you might have an urge to play with your huge feeling lips)

It doesn't hurt, except for maybe the novacaine shot ( I hate needles, but it's not all that bad!. )!. It can be uncomfortable, when they're drilling away the decay, and getting used to the filling, but it's completely worth it!.
Another option is, depending on where you are, is searching for someone who uses a dental laser to do fillings!. A friend of mine had a couple of fillings done this way, and she literally sings its praises!. It's a no-shot, no-pain way to get fillings, which I'm looking into in case I need anymore!.

It doesnt really hurt just kinda of a weird expeirience!. They usually numb your mouth so there is no worries about it HURTING realy bad its just long!.!.!. and you have to stretch you mouth farther then you have ever gotton it before!. It hard to tell step by step cause your focusing on not kicking your dentist away from you and your mouth!. Its not a pleasant expeirience I will not lie but that is bc for me it was unexpected and I was in a bad mood that day!. I suggest you take some sort of music device like an iPod or cd player to listen to while they are working on your mouth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i remember getting a cavity when i was 7, i wasn't sure what to expect, but really, its not painful at all, usually they give you a little laughing gas to start you off!. then when they numb your gums its like a toothpick poke!. once thats over with, it is supremely easy
just as a side note: i don't know how i remember this, but when i was high off of laughing gas and numbness, i remember the conversation between the dental lady and her assistant, they were talking about preschool or something!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt they'll fill all 4 cavities in one visit!. I had 5 and it took 3 trips to the dentist!. It's not painful unless the aesthetic doesn't work properly which has happened to me before as well!. Sometimes you feel pressure, but that's about as bad as it gets!. Don't be scared!Www@Answer-Health@Com
When I had my cavities filled, they numbed the area w/ a drugstore topical anesthetic, but it still hurt!. The best thing to do is to go in and get it over with, b/c if you just leave it, it will get worse and worse, with a lot of pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
