2-year old's teeth - cavities or tartar buildup?!

Question: 2-year old's teeth - cavities or tartar buildup!?
We were at the dentist 6 months ago with a clean bill of health!. I just noticed this evening that near the gumline, my son has a line of white (whiter than his actual teeth, which are quite white) and some pitting on the teeth in the white area!. My husband brushed my son's teeth vigorously and said that some of the white stuff came off, and now I can feel and see holes and pits in there!. Could this just be tartar buildup, or does it sound like it's definitely cavities!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
My daughter has this and some of hers was tarter build up!. She also has some pitting because she had surgery at 10mo!. old and three years old!. I think the stress to her body had something to do with it!. We brush, floss and see the dentist every 6 mo!. He tried to put fillings in the pits but it did not work!. She is 6!.5 and will loose those teeth this summer!.

Best bet is keep brushed, see dentist for cleaning and try to floss when your son will let you!. Ask dentist about mouth wash for kids!.!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is hard to say for sure without seeing, but i work at a pediatric dental office and it sounds like cavities!. The "white line" might be cervical demineralization- this is caused from plaque sitting on the teeth for a while not getting brushed off, it etches away the enamel!. You should call your childs entist and get them in asap just to be sure!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

that is normal!. he's just a child and if his teeth decay, it'll grow up easily!. my younger brother experienced that too, but it's not whiter, it is actually decaying, almost all of his front teeth, but now as he grows up, they are replaced by newly-grown ones!.

there's nothing to worry about that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Does this 2 year old sleep with a bottle!? It sounds like bottle rot!. Baby teeth are weak already!. Some kids need to have them capped or pulled, just make another dentist visit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be a number of things!. Sounds like you need to go to a peds dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

why don't you just go ask your dentist!? !._!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
