The swelling and pain will last a couple of days at the longest a week, what you want to do is get her to swill her mouth out with a warm salt water and this will help with the mending process, you can brush her teeth gentlely with normal toothpaste with a really soft brush!.

I hope she will be ok, her big teeth may have trauma marks on them when they come through but they should be healthy, but that is only a maybe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need a different dentist, mine would NEVER just WAIT and see like that, what crap!. Call and get an emergency appointment with a pediatric dentist who will actually help you!.

In the meantime she can swish and spit with warm salt water, that won't hurt and will help her feel better, tylenol for the swelling and pain if your regular doctor is ok with her taking that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Her dentist sounds like a quack; a lot like my childhood dentist!. I'd get a second opinion, there's no reason for your child to be in pain, in the mean time try giving her childrens tylenol or motrin!. Have her eat soft foods and pop in a few of her favorite movies!. I've had so many oral problems; I'm only 18 and I've had 4 oral surgeries; but watching movies, having some sort of pain meds, and alternating between hot and cold packs on my face helped!. Good luck! =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Either get your dentist on the phone and explain what's going on or go get a second opinion!. At the very least, insist that they give her something for the pain!. Geesh! I'm cringing just thinking about your poor daughter's mouth!. Best wishes!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Always get a second opinion!. These teeth might be baby teeth so taking them out would not cause a problem!. But i am not a father, A secong opinion is always a good choice,Www@Answer-Health@Com

What about buying that orajel package!? The one from the commercial!. It gets rid of pain for a month after you swab it on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

oohhh!.!.!.poor little one!.

Call the dentist back and INSIST that they give you more instructions on how to clean, and what to do for the pain!.!.!.just use them for that immediate quick fix and then get on with finding a new dentist ASAP!.

She should be getting the best attention/care possible!. Call 1800 dentist and find another one in your area that specializes in children's oral injury!.

Or ask other parents for a dental recommendation !.

Sometimes even a school nurse will give a referral!. Call the local elementary school or her pre school where she is enrolled for a recommendation!.

When you find a new dentist, have her seen right away as this is an EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT!.

I know insurance can be an issue when looking for a dentist, but if there is a financial issue, and a special circumstance, usually a dentist will make special payment accomodations!.

Bottom line is, it is not healthy or normal to wait for her teeth to re-erupt, while your child sits in pain!.

It could become infected and cause trouble and effect other things or give her 'referred pain' to the ears, nose, head, etc!.!.!.

Sorry for you both!.
Best wishes for a painless recovery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Okay, this happened to me when I was 3!. First of all your dentist should either straighten the teeth or remove them because they are her baby teeth and her adult teeth will grow in eventually!. As for cleaning it, the dentist didn't do it!? You need a new dentist!. Get rid of the pain first with whatever pain reliever you have!. To get her to take it try going to a drug store (Quickly!) and buying a syringe!. i know that sound forceful but it will help her a lot!. Once the pain has subsided it will be easier to clean her mouth!. Try using phrases like,'If you let me do this your mouth will feel better' or 'I'll give you a lollipop' Bribery is Bliss!. Have her swish regular water in her mouth and spit it out!. Then have her swish salt water in her mouth!. It will not be easy after this because salt water is NOT pleasant but keep trying!. Have her swish regular water again!. After this ice her mouth to take down swelling!. While icing her mouth call around to other local dentists!. Yours should have known what to do immediatly instead of turning you away forcing you to ask random people!. Poor you! :( Good luck and update this post, I want to know what's going on!.

After progress report:
Heck No! When my teeth were pushed into my gums they removed them and now many years later I have beautiful teeth and never once had braces or even bands! Your daughter comes first and if your crappy doctors want to wait any more say, "Hell no! My daughter is in pain and I want them fixed!. If you can't do anything to help her I will go elsewhere!." They can get a lot of money from this and will not want you to leave!. Your daughter comes first and she is scared confused and in pain!. Do what is best for her, not how pretty her teeth will look in the future!. Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would suggest that you take her to a different dentist!.
For now, it would most likely cause alot of pain to brush her teeth so try using mouth wash!. Not as effective but seems like the best alternative!. Avoid anything that puts pressure on her teeth!.

After your update:

It seems like there really is nothing you can do but wait for the teeth to come back out on their own!. In the meantime, I guess all you can do is help minimize her pain!. There are some oral gels that numbs the gums similar to Novocaine!. Also the otc painkillers that you have been giving her!. The only worry about this is how safe it is for a 4 year old!. My parents never gave me a whole pill of advil or tynonel until i was 10!. They always use to break it in half(tynonel) or smash it into powder(advil since its smaller)!.

Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
