It takes about eight seconds!. They numb you up, you can't feel a thing, then they lever it out!. It will all be over before you even have time to distract yourself!. No tugging or pulling in 2008 dentistry - maybe a slight twist to loosen the fibres round the tooth, then it is popped out!.

Honestly, don't get worked up over the 'fear of fear'!. You will wonder why you were bothered when it is all over!.

The main thing to focus on is not getting dry socket after the extraction!. Now THAT is real pain, and something you have good reason to worry about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yea I had a wisdom tooth removed a month ago and I'll tell you the truth, it wasn't pretty!. He couldn't budge it so he gave me all in all 7 injections then crushed it like a nut!. So my best advice (please do this), spend time sort of wriggling it from side to side yourself to try and loosen it up!. Listen to your headphones when in there and close your eyes!. If it isn't a wisdom tooth you'll definately be fine!.

Tomorrow, after you get the tooth removed don't suck anything through a straw and keep the extraction site clean, as this will prevent dry socket!. I had dry socket and the pain/horrible taste and smell did not go away for a week or two!. I had to go back and get an antisceptic dressing!. Believe me, antisceptic lasagne isn't very nice!.

Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try and think about normal stuff in your life, stuff you normally think about!.

Look around the dentist surgery and just try not to think about what the dentist is doing!.

Sometimes they have light screens above you!. My dentist has one with the 'roof' of a forest, looking up!. I count the leaves while I'm lying down!.

Headphones and dvds are a little far-fetched!. They're not likely to have those!.

Let your dentist know if you can still feel anything after you've had your infection - they'll give you another one!.

Good luck and don't worry - loads of people have it!. My ten year old brother had a molar pulled out which is the worst (apart from wisdom I guess!?) and he survived it fine without the slightest tear!

They offer sedation dentistry!. You can get IV sedation!. They put a IV in your arm & inject the Sedative & you are out like a light!. They also offer a pill that makes you sleep!. They told me that so called laughing gas is only useful on children & not used much on adults You can look for dentist that use sedation in your plone book!.
I just had teeth removed yesterday using IV sedation!. It works real good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I distract myself with the thought of no more problems with that tooth!.I think to myself,in a days, this will all be over with and i can get back to my happy life once again!. :) Do treat yourself after this procedure, something to be proud of yourself of getting it done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some dentist used laughing gas back in the day, but now I don't know!.There are Oral Surgeons who will put you to sleep!. My friend's son had a tooth pulled and he said only the needles were painful!. The needles were what i always dreaded the most!. Some dentist are very gentle, the last thing they want is to hurt you, but you have to expect some pain!. Go on and get it over with, It has to be done anyway!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had to have 5 teeth pulled out a few weeks ago so i could get my braces and i distracted myself by just thinking of random stuff in my head that is funny and makes you giggle!. It did work and made me think less about what was happening!. Forget about the pas and think ahead!. You will be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
