I would recommend this profession for everybody!Sure it was hard but worth it!.The incentives are good money,jobs everywhere,in the future even more jobs available and the wonderful hours!.I work 3 days a week from 9-5!I'm always asked to work in other offices too 2-3 days a week!.To get started decide what school you want to appy to and they will send you all the info you need!.You will have to have pre-requisite courses before you are accepted!.In my day it was Chemistry 101,Basic Computer skills,English composition 101 &102,Psychology,Sociology,Speech,Human Anantomy & Physiology I,Organic & Bio Chemistry and Microbiology!.This should take 2 semesters!.Semesters 3,4,6 and 7 are full-time 8-5 5 days a week!.Summer semester 5 is Clinic!.I went to U of Houston & U of Texas Dental School in Houston!.Back in the day I applied for Federal student loans(FAFSA) or apply with financial counselor at your school or get The Student Guide from Public Library!.I'm really not sure what is being offered today in Grants and loans!.Most Dental Hygiene programs have a five-semester curriculum with entry into the program in the Fall!.Student selection is based on grades in the pre-professional courses,personal interview,work experience(general,health and dental)and residency!.Your expenses will be tuition,housing,board,books and other usual school expenses like purchase of instruments,uniforms,supplies for clinical and lab courses,lab fees,ect!. back in the late 80s for $2800!.I'm sure it is very different today though!.Like I said it was hard but well worth it and you will have a career for a lifetime that you enjoy and make good money with plenty of leisure time!!Good luck and don't let this intimidate you!.If I could do it then anybody can!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
