Tooth extractions - accidentally sucked site on day 6.?!

Question: Tooth extractions - accidentally sucked site on day 6!.!?
I got 6 teeth out 6 days ago, 2 upper wisdom and 4 bicuspids (lower and upper)!. I've been going nuts trying to prevent dry socket!.!.!.I'm still eating soft foods!. The most solid food I've eaten is macaroni which was earlier today!.

Anyway, I was eating ice cream and accidentally sucked on one of the extraction sites in swallowing!. My question is, am I still in danger of dry socket even on day 6!? There still seems to be openings in the sockets, it hasn't totally healed shut yet!. This is driving me crazy!.!.!.I'm afraid to even clean the areas (salt water isn't taking ALL debris out)!. Any advice would be appreciated!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Symptoms of dry socket usually appear 1-4 days after an extraction, so you're past the danger zome anyway!. You sound like you've been taking a lot of care though, so carry on! Keeping the sockets clean will also help prevent any infection, keep up the good work :)!. Saltwater usually helps take away the debris, especially if used after every meal!.

Sucking the socket accidentally shouldn't be a problem, the stage where it's most critical is the first day when the clot is forming and can easily be disturbed!. At this stage you'll be further along in the healing process - but don't habitually poke the sockets with your tongue/finger or anything!.

As for still having openings in the sockets - that's to be expected!. On average, a molar socket takes 3 weeks to heal over - longer than normal cuts as there is a lot of tissue to replace!.

My advice would be: don't worry too much, as you seem to be doing the right things!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, i got 5 teeth pulled out a few weeks ago and even though the holes are still slightly open aslong as they are not bleeding or don't start bleeding again they should be fine!. Try eating some harder food and see what you think!. If they start bleeding again maybe you should contact your dentist as they shouldn't really be after this amount of time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
