Dry socket after wisdom teeth removal?!

Question: Dry socket after wisdom teeth removal!?
I just had 4 wisdom teeth removed on Monday!. Today (Friday), a lot of the stitches on the right side of my mouth came out!. I only have only one stitch left on the bottom right!. Is this okay!? It seemed like a lot of stitches to come out so soon!. My lower right socket hurts a little, and I want to make sure it's not a dry socket!. There was no bleeding after the stitches came out!. The socket seems pretty closed up and it has a dark-red bloody appearance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its not a problem at all that the stitches have come out!. In fact, many surgeons use dissolvable sutures in the hopes that they WILL come out right about this time!.

Our body is incredible - things manage to heal on their own very quickly!.

Chances are the wounds would have healed up just fine without sutures!. Some surgeons use NO sutures after wisdom teeth removal!

You pretty much know if you have a dry socket!.

Basically, if by the 4th or 5th day (now) it starts hurting lots (to the point where you still crave pain medicine) and / or you start getting really bad breath!.!.!. you have a dry socket!.

From your description it doesn't sound like you do!.

Congrats!

Typically someone experiences dry socket 3-4 days after an extraction!. You know you have it if you experience an excruciating pain!. It doesn't sound like this is what is happening to you, so I would say you are just fine!.
Self absorbing stitches will only stay in for 2-3 days!. Then they break down and fall out!. So what you experienced is perfectly normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you will know if you have dry sockets because is will hurt a LOT!!! Just don't smoke, suck, or spit and you should be ok! I think after the first few days it is less likely that you will get dry sockets and you don't have to worry about it as much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
