Question: I just have a question about what happened today when i went to the dentist!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
ok so today i went to the dentist!. i was only expecting to get 2 fillings done but they ended up doing 4!. they put me on the gas and gave me the shots(4) and i didnt feel either one of them(thankfully)!. a few minutes after they gave me the shots my whole body started shaking a little bit!. i dont think much i was just shaking enough to where i could see my nose piece shaking!. and i could see my legs and arms shake a little!. sometimes it would also make my arm twitch(i guess you would call it that)!. is that normal!? i have never really shook after getting my shots and gas!. what could have caused me to shake like that!? also after they got done i was really dizzy, is that normal as well!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It sounds to me like you had problems with epinephrine (the vasoconstrictor that comes with the local anesthesia) because of the shakes, the twitches and - probably - your heart was also beating faster which is why you were dizzy!.

4 shots shouldn't give you that reaction!.!.!. maybe you were too stressed and/or you had drank too much coffee before the procedure!.

If I were you I would go to my physician and would get my heart checked up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Once again having been in Dentistry for 25 yrs!.I totally agree with the Medical student!.If on the patient's health history of any heart murmurs or any other heart problems we would use Carbocaine that has no epinephrine!.In Dental school we always took the patient's blood pressure and pulse before any work but most dentists don't!.The nitrous oxide should be adjusted for individual patients and charted as like 3/4 or 4/3 or whatever indicating oxygen levels to nitrous levels!.Perhaps less oxygen and too much nitrous caused some of your problems too!.Always indicate to the dentist if you want it lower or higher if you experience discomfort so they can chart the amount that is comfortable for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No that is not normal!. You could be allergic to the anaethetic!. The dentist should not have used so much of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
