i did!. fever, beyond excuriating pain and swelling that went down and back up!. swelling in the neck and just lots and lots of pain thats all i can rememberWww@Answer-Health@Com
Sometimes what people think is an infection is actually something called "dry socket syndrome!." Normally a blood clot should form in the socket and serve as a platform for the gum to grow back on!. If that clot doesn't form or get dislodged, there's an empty tooth socket and the gum doesn't heal as quickly!. Symptoms: hurts like a sonofabitch, smells bad, etc!.

Yes!. I did not know it was infected until I went for my one week check!. I asked the doctor for more pain meds because it still hurt a lot! He informed me that I should not need pain meds a week after!. Sure enough it was infected!. It smelled really bad, too!.
I think a fever is another symptom!. If you are unsure, you may want to call!. They should not charge you for them to check!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
