Question: When I get My braces and teeth!.!.!. Questions!?
Im getting my braces in 2 days i was wondering these questions:
I am going to have fixed ones and elastic bands i think too,I sing quite a lot and i want to go in the school concert and i was wondering will it effect how my voice will sound and they way i sing!?
I snack in between meals and eat a lot of sugar and when i get my braces i am not allowed to do that because my teeth will go purple- does this mean i cannot eat food which contains suagr for 2 years and what should i eat instead- will i still be able to eat sweets!?
How do they fix and fit my braces in my mouth!?
How can i whiten my teeth beacuse they are a lil bit yellow!?!

I have braces, and I love to sing too!. It doesn't effect your singing whatsoever, but I did have to get used to opening my mouth to sing around my braces!.,, and, I never heard that your teeth will go purple!.!. I eat alot of suger too, and I still do!. How they put your braces in may depend on where you live, but I live in nova scotia, canada, and they put this thing in my mouth to hold it open and stuck the bands on my back teeth and glued the bracets on!. I would like to add, don't use whitening toothpaste when you have them, because then they'd be white around the bracets and when you get them off they'll be a yellower spot!. hope this helps !! Braces don't affect you're voice, only your pronounciation (sometimes)!.!. You can eat sweets!.!. Uh!.!. I don't really know why you're not allowed to eat sweets since I have braces too and I eat sweets all the time!.!. (except for the sticky ones and the hard ones!.!. the sticky ones are hard to clean and the hard ones tend to break or do something wrong with your brackets)!.!. I can sing too!.!. I used to wear braces with elastic bands and i also sing!. After the first week or so of getting used to them they make no difference whatsoever to how you speak or sing!.
As for your teeth going purple!.!.!.!.ive never heard that one before! are you sure thats actualy what will happen because its slightly impossible to avoid any foods with sugar for two years!.
I'd wait till after you've got your braces off to get your teeth whitened because then you'l be able to show off your new white smile with straight teeth!. Just ask your dentist about it :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

food most of the time get stuck between the braces, i eat sweet and ive never heard about your teeth turning purple!. you just can't hard stuff cause they can make your brackets fall off!. and you can't whiten your teeth!. but look at it this way like i do, if i want really straight teeth i'll have to be patient!.

Sorry bout the braces, but its not as big of a deal as you think!. I'm not sure, but I think that you don't get elastic bands right when you get them on, and just in case you do you can always take them out before you sing!. They shouldn't effect your singing terribly, but its a good idea to do a lot of tongue twisters to get used to them!.
Now for the sugar, its best cut down on it because it could eat away at the braces, but really, the only things I've had trouble eating were caramels, hard candies, popcorn, and biting into apples!. So really just eat them only sparingly and cut up apples!.

1) shouldnt affect your singing voice, but you might want to take the rubberbands out because they constrict your open/close movement!.
2)sugar doesn't harm braces, its something your dentist tells you to prevent cavities!. You can eat sugar (like all things - in moderation)!. Just brush extra well and use a water pick to get the junk out from between the braces and wire
3)They fix and fit the braces to your mouth using a mold of your teeth layout, and they adjust them with wires to your back molers

Your dentist/orthodontist will answer all your questions when you go to have your braces fitted!. I am a bit surprised you haven't been given this information already, actually!.
Presumably you have had consultations, x-rays, teeth removed etc in preparation for this treatment!. I went through this procedure with my daughter a few years ago and this is what happened with her, so I know how it works!. Do ask your dentist anything at all!. Make a few notes to remind you in case you are like me and tend to forget things only to remember afterwards!.

The elastic bands did not change my voice at all, but the braces might until you get used to them!. Braces didn't really change my voice, but I know they changed my sisters for a couple days or so!. I'm not in choir, but I would think that it could change the way you sing!. If you take out the elastics just for the concert, and put them back in after, it would NOT make a difference to the way your teeth are shifting, etc!.
You shouldn't eat EXCESSIVE amounts of sugar because it is so much harder to brush your teeth thoroughly!. I still ate sweets, but you should be cautious about how much sugar you're taking in!.
I'm not sure what you mean by the "fix and fit braces!."
The only thing I can tell you about whitening your teeth would be to brush/floss your teeth after every meal (which is a good idea because you'll have food stuck in your braces), and to go to the dentist regularly!. You can't whiten when you have braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the metal braces are fixed to each tooth by really strong non toxic oral adhesive, the elastic bands used are gradually changed to be smaller to pull your teeth in to the desired position and there are screws on the anchors which are put on the back teeth these help to keep the braces where they should be

you should cut down on your sugary foods/drinks in take and regularly clean your teeth (at least three times a day) and use interdental toothbrushes (they are a really small brush) they are designed to brush in between small spaces where a normal toothbrush might miss, use tooth whitening products you can use these wilst you have your braces
ill be honest with you and say expect some discomfort as your teeth are being moved to their new positions if it is painful take paracematol or ibuprofen to take the edge off, itll be worth it though when you have a smile a celebrity will be jealous of

My sister has the same as you're having, and tbh, they might effect your singing for NOW!. It wont effect your singing forever, its just when you have your bands in, you're not used to it, so your voice will sound abit different and it will be harder to eat!. Also there will be some pain for the first few days!. The problem that my sister did was that she took hers out!. Do not! take them out as they will hurt more once you put them back in!. Just buy some Bonjella and I'm sure you'll be fine, just don't do what my sister did!
