Question: How long do retainers have to stay in when you first get them and for how many months!?
How many months or weeks do i have to keep the process up!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
3 months full time approx depending on how you go :) then you will only ahve to wear it at nights for as long as you want straight teeth :> the minimum u should wear it is 3 nights a weekWww@Answer-Health@Com

Most orthodontist will have you wear them full time (except when you eat and drink something other than water) for the first 3 to 6 months!. In the office that I work, we have our patients wear them full time for three months, then if everything looks good they can cut back to nights only!.

As for how long to keep this process going, I would wear them at night for a very long time!. This ensures that your teeth will not move!. Now, if a life sentence to your retainers does not sound feasible, you can try going every other night after the first year or two!. If your teeth start moving, go back to every night!. Eventually, you get it so you wear the retainer once or twice a week!. But do this slowly and pay close attention to your teeth!. If you let them move too much, a retainer will not move them back!.

Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My orthodontist told me that i have to wear them for:
Full time for the first 6 months except eating and drinking anyting other than water, contact sports and swimming!.
4 hours off a day for the next 3 months except eating and drinking anyting other than water, contact sports and swimming!.
8 hours off a day for the next 3 months except eating and drinking anyting other than water, contact sports and swimming!.
Wearing only at nighttime for the next 5 years!.
For however long i want straight teeth after that!.
This is what i was told and i would usually believe that it is something like that!.
Hope this helps :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
