hi everyone!.
iam having my wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow and iam very worried!. iam only turning 14 next month! what happens exactly!? doz the injection, stitching and pullin the teeth out hurt!? please tell me! iam very worried and need help and advice!. the dentist said i will be awake buh the injection wil make my mouth numb!. so i can see wots going on! plz help and ill vote for u as best answer!Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, don't be overly concerned!. You will be just fine if you follow the instructions of your dentist!.
What will happen is that the dentist will numb you with an anesthetic!. When the numbing takes effect, only then will the dentist start removing your wisdom teeth!. You WILL feel alot of pressure, but no pain!. You will also feel pulling and pushing, as this is how the dentist has to loosen the tooth from the tooth socket!. It takes anywhere from 5 minutes to about 15 minutes to get a tooth out, depending on how far the tooth is in the socket, if it is impacted, etc!.
As for the injection, it will pinch a little, but there should not be pain!. The pulling and the stitching is the same!. Because you will be numb during the removal of the tooth and the stitching phases, you should not feel any pain at all!. I hope this helps!. They will numb you for a reason, so you don't feel anything!. The only thing you will feel is pressure in getting them pulled!. When the numbing goes out several hours later, you will feel sore and they you can take some tylenol or if they have other medication that they will give you!. They gave me a prescription of tylenol3's!. It's actually a good thing that you will be awake!. When they have to put you under is when they can't get you numb or your teeth are so impacted that they have to dig them out!. You are more sore then!. The dentist will give you instructions on how to take care of your mouth afterwards to prevent dry socket!.
I was 21 when I had mine out and had to be put under!. I was also a smoker at that time and really had a hard time because with smoking you have a hard time trying to heal!. I didn't know that at the time!. Thank goodness I no longer smoke!. Too many health related problems!. I also didn't have stitches!. I had mine taken that same way like this person said was yes you will feel pressure when they pull the teeth out!. If I was you hunni I'd close my eyes and try to think of somethin positive don't really think about what their doing it will only make you nervous more!. They give you gauze to stop the bleeding as well!. You should be fine good luck!. =]Www@Answer-Health@Com
I just got mine taken out on Thursday!. My advice is close your eyes and loop music in your head when the dentists starts extracting the teeth!. It really works cos it distracts!Www@Answer-Health@Com
