Painful deep cleaning experience?!

Question: Painful deep cleaning experience!?
So my dentist is really nice and when I went in for my deep cleaning 2 weeks he did a great job and I hardly experienced any pain!. However, last week when I went in for the second half of the procedure, I had another dentist do the procedure!. She was way to rough and she really hurt me!. I could not open my jaw for 3 days and still to this day I am still experiencing pain!. I told the dentist about it and of course he took her side!. He said that he would call me over the weekend to see how I was doing and he never did!. He always calls his patients to follow up and see how they are doing!. At any rate, I have to go back in October and I am scared because I complained about the other dentist!. Should I go back to them or find a new dentist!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hell no, you stand your ground and dont allow yourself to feel like you dont have the right to freedom of speech!
Does this practise have a practise manager!?
I work as a dental nurse and if any of our patients are unhappy with any aspect of their treatment, we advise them to put their concerns in writing to our PM who will look into them!.
I'm not sure how your dentists carries out his treatments, but when my dentist starts a course of treatment, any course of treatment, it's usually him that continues the treatment, unless the patient actually asks to see another dentist!.
If you still feel discomfort give your dentist a call and simply explain your concerns and request that you do not see this particular dentist again, your not doing anything wrong and your within your rights, let's be honest, if you went and had a bad haircut, you wouldn't go back and let the same person butcher you again!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had the same experience!.

Once in awhile I will be a little sore from the deep cleaning, but usually I am not sore at all (one trouble area I have in my gums always gets sore, but it gets sore from regular cleanings, not just the deep cleanings)!.

When I am more sore than usual, I let the dentist know that although the hygenist was extremely thorough, I was very sore afterwards where I usually am not!.

It is possible that you were sore not because the 2nd hygenist was too rough, but because you were still slightly sore form your early cleaning!. Also, the plaque might have been worse in the areas being treated in the second cleaning!.

Since my dentist has several hygenists who all work different schedules, it was enough for me to simply schedule my appoints on Tuesdays or Thursdays (the rough one worked on Mondays and Wednesdays)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
