Teethgrinding. Best treatment?!

Question: Teethgrinding!. Best treatment!?
My partner grinds his teeth in his sleep which drives me insane!. I know this condition can be related to stress so should he see a doctor or dentist!? I've asked him about anything he could be worried about but he's done this for years so has no idea what could be causing it!.

I know you can buy mouth guards to help but he would prefer a treatment for the cause rather than the symptoms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
teethgrinding is a habit but can also be stress related or they could be anxious!. there is no cure for teeth grinding sry!. but there are ways of prevent it from occuring like going to an orthodontist who will look at his jaw because teethgrinding is the number one sysmptom of TMJ a jaw problem where your jaw joint can move from side to side and lock and also pop out of its joint many people experience these just thinking its a once off thing and ignore it to the point where they have done so much damage to the jaw joint that there can be very severe consequenses!. the most common way to soothe teeth grinding is to wear a mouth guard which evenly dispatches the pain over the entire mouth and the guard also takes the pressure off so that the enamel isnt wrecked!. then there is jaw surgery to fix the jaw harmony and there are many other ways but just go down to an orthodontist and they will help him (& u) with any problems you might have!.

Unfortunately there is no dental treatment for the cause of teeth grinding!. It is stress-related!. The standard procedure is to give the patient a bite-guard tailored for him!. This will prevent him grinding his teeth down and ruining his jaw joint!. A mouth guard from the supermarket shelf may provide some relief!. But these things are not meant to be worn all night!. Your friend should see a dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi hunni

Its probably a habit he's had since childhood, not much you can do about it i don't think!.
You could try hypnotherapy, perhaps you could be given some sort of code word to say to him just before he falls into a deep sleep or when he actually starts to grind his teeth!. i don't know if hypnotherapy does work, but there's no harm in trying it out is there!.

Good Luck hunni!. X :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

go to your dentist,, then he/she will check your partner's condition (if it already cause atrition (loss the top part (email) of the teeth so he will give you another treatment cause it can cause pain)) and maybe he will suggest you mouthguard :)

dont delay it ok :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

try buying a mouth guard and just tell him to wear it at night, before he wears his enamel out
