Question: Got time to hear my root canal woes!?!.!. I need advice!?
At the end of Apr I had an BAD toothache!. I called the dentist got right in!. #18 had a filling and I had no previous problems w/ it!. I noticed a few days after I was chewing on a piece of plastic it was hurting!. It was sensitive to temp and pressure!. He said that he wanted to do a RCT b/c of the pain, and at this first apt he never suggested infection!. Personally I think that maybe the paint on the plastic could have started an infec!.!. Is that possible!? So I had part of the RCT, and temp filling put on it!. Had on/off mild soreness then it got really bad 3 wks later!. I noticed it was slightly loose too!. He said it was from me hitting it!. Had the RCT completed and again temp filled!. He also fixed the bite!. I got antibi's because he said I had a small infec!. I also noticed a lump I could feel right under where the tooth was!. The antibi's puffed my gum, went away!. I now have no feeling in the gum on the next tooth!. The lump went down SOME!. Going back -1wk!. Could something still be wrong!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a dental assistant!. The paint on the plastic could not cause your tooth to go bad or need root canal!. You probably had a crack around your filling which let bacteria in the root of your tooth and caused the infection!. A dentist only does root canal if you have an infection in that tooth!. The lump by your tooth was the infection and your body's defenses trying to clear it up!. The anti-biotic was very necessary because people have died from infected teeth that they never got taken care of!. The feeling should return to your gum soon and if it doesen't then I would call the dentist and have him check it!. I had a root canal done once and the dentist did a good job but didn't realize I had 4 roots instead of the 3 that is normal and I had to go back in and go through it all over again, but that is very rare!. Just give your body a week to do it's work and see how you feel then!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
root canals are a waste of money!. get it pulled and then worry about what to do about it later!.!.!.
i have had three root canals done and they just go bad after a few years!. then when they go bad the second time the dentist pulls them anyways so why waste the money for the root canal the first time just to have it pulled 3 years later when the tooth goes bad again!.!.!. now i save myself the money and get it pulled the first time!.

your condition maybe resulted from many causes
for the sensitive filling,
maybe there is A LEAKAGE WITHING THE FILLING,, n if your tooth decay has reached the dentin part,, it is sensitive to temp and push (when you eat something or brushing)
it is worsen if you have infection beneath it (e!.q infection from trapped food,, bacterias),, inflammation causes by infection sure PRODUCES PAIN
for the gum,, watch your oral hygience
but for all above,, for the best, i suggess you to see a periodontologist (for your gum condition)and restorative dentist for your filling
