Why do you need a crown on your tooth when you have fillings already?!
Question: Why do you need a crown on your tooth when you have fillings already!?
Answers:
Because crowns are stronger, if fillings are big as in covering 3 or more of the 5 surfaces of the teeth, eg (mesial occlusal distal for example) the teeth become weak and the fillings will just come off eventually or crack which would leave you with having decay in the tooth!. Crowns cover the whole lot so theres no risk of bits of it falling away its the best way to save a tooth that fillings just arn't working in anymore!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
A filling and a crown each serve two seperate purposes!. A filling basically fills an area, where a crown wraps around a tooth and hold it together!. A filling would not repair a cracked tooth and it would not be the best treatment for a tooth that already has a very large filling in it!. A filling shouldn't ever cover more than 30% of the surface area of a tooth, otherwise the tooth may end up fracturing over time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You may have too much decay under the filling-and you will lose the tooth- or your dentist needs the $800 !!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
