My mom just had all her upper teeth extracted for placement of a denture plate.?!

Question: My mom just had all her upper teeth extracted for placement of a denture plate!.!?
No temporary denture was fitted at all!. She has had several spots on her gum that have had bone 'erupt' and then grow back over with 'new' gum tissue!. I have never heard of this before!. Anyway, she has one area in the back that has had this happen, and just will not complete healing, or I guess it is just not doing so!. Has anyone else dealt with this!? Mom is concerned about it, but says she will only go back to the dentist to get the plate fitting, and she will not make that appointment until she has the gum healed up!. I know, stubborn and silly, but that is what I am dealing with!. Any ideas on how long this can last!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Tell her she should gargle salt water, this will help to heal quicker!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wounds in the mouth, be they related to an extraction or any other surgical procedure, heal very fast!. If that is not happening medical attention is needed!. There are no homespun remedies for this!. It is also true that a new dental cast should be made as soon as the healing process is completed!. Otherwise your mother's denture won't fit and must be realigned!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hmm its kinda weird of having the bone growing at the posterior side

as long as i know,, there wont be any enlargement of your bone,, maybe its only your gum covering it so

but if it happens,, try to make another appointment with the dentist,, and MAKE ANOTHER CAST to make next denture PERFECTLY FIT to your mother

and you can also discuss about the gum wound

hope it will help :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
