What do the orthodontists do during your consultation before getting braces??!
Question: What do the orthodontists do during your consultation before getting braces!?!?

I have had my braces on for a month nest week!. Here is what they did for me:
First visit: Ortho just looked at my teeth, and spoke to me about braces and the cost (which can vary) and explained to be about which teeth he thought had to pulled!.
Second Visit: He done X-Rays of all my teeth and determined that I needed 3 wisdom teeth out and 4 regular teeth!. They also done impressions (NOT FUN!) at this visit!. They also took polaroids of my teeth so that I would have before/after photos when braces come off!.
Third Visit: My ortho (yes, ortho) pulled my 3 wisdom teeth!. 2 weeks later, he pulled my 4 regular teeth for room for my teeth to move with braces!.
Forth Visit: Braces put on, top and bottom!. I am currently awaiting my first check up with braces which will be next week!.
Btw, braces do not hurt as bad as some people make it out to be!. I was eating normal the next week!. It does feel "sore" but nothing intense!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yuck!. i had braces for three years!. they just use some gross molding stuff to take a mold of your teeth!. they should give you a choice of flavor!.!. if you're lucky they'll have different kinds!. they should explain what they're doing and why they're taking the molds!.!.

ok they bring you in a room and take a mold of your teeth( this does not hurt) then a few week later they put them on you!. they polish your teeth with a nasty tasting stuff, then the glue them on your teeth and open the little doors on the brackets and insert a wire, it does not really hurt but after this it does since your teeth are getting stright!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
They'll usually just take a mold, talk about financing maybe, discuss the length of the procedure, and if they're good orthodontists, ask if you have any questions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
uhm he basically just tells you why you need the braces, where the problems are in your teeth, how long your going to need them, if you need like a retainer/expander and things like that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
From what I remember (and I grew up in the stone age) they assess what sort of work needs to be done and for how long!. Everyone's mouth is different!.

Tell you what the brace will do to your teeth
Decide if you need any teeth out and maybe what sort of brace you need
