I got my wisdom teeth out within the last year and I was worried, too!. They put you to sleep during the procedure so you feel nothing!. I was most worried about getting the IV in my arm to put me to sleep, I hate needles!. But, its really not bad at all!. It is a small pinch and you don't even have time to get scared!. Within seconds you are knocked out!. After the procedure you probably won't remember much of the next hour!.!.I did random/weird things that I barely remember (kinda foggy)!. The most important thing is to take the medicine they give you as soon as you are allowed to, because although your teeth do not hurt at the moment, the pain will kick in and it will be too late for the medicine!. You will eventually adjust and know when you need medicine or not, but I took it whenever I was allowed and was not sore!. The gauze has to be changed a lot and its hard to chew for a day or 2!. Eat pudding, jello, mashed potatoes, etc!. The cool thing is is that people are waiting on you hand and foot! Eat lots of ice cream!! If you can get ALL of your wisdom teeth out, I suggest that!. I know people who got 2 out and went back to get the other 2 out!.!.!.they really didn't want to redo it!. Not that its painful, just wastes a lot of time of wanting to chew but you can't!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't worry you will be fine!. First they will have to start an IV so that they can give medication to put you out!. They do have to cut into your gums to remove the wisdom teeth because mostly they are impacted or semi impacted in the gums!. When you wake up you will have gauze in your mouth to help with the bleeding!. You'll be alittle groggy the rest of the day!. As soon as you feel pain starting take your pain medication the doctor will give you!. Don't let the pain get bad before you take the medication because it will take longer for the medication to relieve the pain!. You will be dancing in 2 to 3 days afterwards!. Don't worry!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on if your wisdom teeth are fully exposed or partially impacted in the gums!. If they are fully exposed, the doctor will pull them like regular teeth, and you may or may not be asleep!. If they are partially impacted, the doctor will put you to sleep, cut your gums, and then pull the teeth!. Most times they don't pull all four in the same shot!. They will usually pull the top, and then pull the bottom in another sessin!.

The part the hurts first is the needles so they can deliver the numbing medication!. If you are asleep, you are not going to feel a thing!. If you are awake, it may hurt to varying degrees depending on how well you were numbed prior to the procedure!.

The bad news is the teeth pulling is just a small part of the pain!. The WORST pain is after!.!.!.once all the medication has worn off!. You can't eat and your jaw hurts! Once you've healed and the swelling has gone down, then you're okay!.

Hope everything goes well for you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had all of my teeth pulled out, and I won't lie to you, it does hurt like all heck!. They can give you a pill to take before you go in to relax you, then they give you gas that will make you sleepy and you will go to sleep!. They go in there with weird looking pliers and twist back and forth till the roots come out!. They pack your mouth full of gauze to stop the bleeding and you need to eat soft foods for a couple of days!. They are suppose to give you some pain killers for afterward and be sure to put an ice pack on your cheek!.
To make the holes heal up quicker, rinse your mouth out with apple cider vinegar and water, a little bit of apple cider and a lot of water!. Use that instead of the salt water, it does help out a lot!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mary K, I had my wisdom teeth a few years later than your own age ( I think around 19 or 20)!. To answer your question, you will almost certainly be anesthetized for the procedure, so you will experience no pain then!. Once you are awake and the localized anesthetic wears off, their will be some discomfort, as areas on the sides of your mouth will be sore and perhaps raw!. You should feel fine within a few days!. As for the needles, I too hate dealing with them!. I find that the best way to deal with getting an injection is to close your eyes and not look!. It's far less stressful that way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got mine pulled under nitrous oxide and it wasn't bad at all!. I was so loopy!. The needles at the beginning to numb my gums stung a bit, but then I didn't feel any pain for the rest of the procedure!. They cracked my teeth into fours before pulling them out!.!. but that only sounded aweful!.!. It didn't hurt!. I was sore after but I just laid around the house a couple of days after!. You will be ok :) Many people get them pulled!. Oh and I didn't need an IV, just the nitrous mask!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey dont worry!.!. Its not bad at all!.!. I was scared to have my 3 wisdom teeth removed!.!. but they put you to sleep and you really dont feel anything!.!. Its hurts alot for a few days after!.!. but you will be fine :) Dont worry!.!. Your face and cheeks might get puffy too if the teeth are impacted in the bone!.!. but trust me you will be ok!.!. almost everyone has wisdom teeth that need to be removed!.!.!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok - you asked for details!. First, if the teeth have already broken through your gums then they literally just wiggle them out!. Of course this takes alot of pressure, so they will numb you up!. If they have not broken through the skin yet, then, yes, they will cut your gum open to get to them!. The good news is this - they will numb you up and you won't feel anything! They do use shots to do this - but you'll be fine! I got my 12-year molars out when I was a little younger than you!. They do sometimes use an IV, which feels just like another shot or getting your blood drawn!. Good news there is they give you DRUGS (seditives)!. All in all - just about everyone in America gets their wisdom teeth out!. The day of - you'll be groggy and numb!. The next day or two, you'll be sore, but should be on some pretty good pain meds!. You will have a little swelling the first couple days and be on limited food stuff - soft and liquids - for a few days!. But as far as looking weird - only for a few days!. You'll do great! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
