Answers:
A palatal expander is cemented using bands that are like those that you would see used on molars during traditional orthodontic banding!. The actual palatal expander is bound to the bands that will be cemented to your molars!. It will probably take around 15-20 minutes to seat the palatal expander!. The seating of the palatal expander shouldn't be painful at all - very similar to having braces put on!. Once you begin "turning" your palatal expander you will experience some discomfort, similar to that when you have your braces "tightened"!. It is removed by gently breaking the cement and taking the bands off from the molars - in the same way that braces are removed!. The removal of the palatal expander also shouldn't be uncomfortable!. Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
