Question: I have to get a root canal tomorrow!.!.!.!.!?
I have to get a root canal done tomorrow from a dead tooth due to an acciedent many years ago!. Anyway, I am completely terrified!. I am also going to get the 'gas' to help me relax but I am still scared!. Anyway, I have a question or two!. How can I calm down about this procedure!. And tomorrow is Thursday and I have a wedding to go to on Sat!. Will I feel alright to go to the wedding!? Will I be able to eat normally!? And how much pain should I expect to be in when I get this done!? Please help, I'm so worried/scared!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

your dentist will give you enough carbocaine that you should feel only the slightest of twinges!. do not expect nitrous oxide(laughing gas) to kill any pain!. as to eating you will only get a temporary filling so expect to limit your food intake to soft easily chewed things!. and plan on attending the wedding you should be fine if you follow the dentist instructions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had a root canal on my front tooth!. I won't lie and say it was fine, it was horrible!. They may give you a needle to numb the area so that you can't feel any pain, you can feel it happening, just no pain!. Just relax and think, 'oh it'll all be over, in a hour', thats what I do anyway!. You should be fine for the wedding and able to eat normally!. I havent had a root canal without a needle but it you do have a needle, thats the only pain really!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Listen, i've had a root canal done with a cracked tooth that had decayed, and I was in a lot of pain, but to counteract the infection i had to have loads of anesthetic put into the gum just to numb it!. But once it was numbed he did the canal and it has never caused me and issue since!. Happy days, so don't worry about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The dentist will give you anaesthetic to take away the pain!. You should not feel anything more than some pressure, some vibration or some pulling sensations!. The sound of the drill is the nasty part!.!.!.!.but it should not HURT!.
You'll be able to eat later in the day, and should have no pain by the next day!. You might have some achiness in the jaw tomorrow evening!.!.!.!.not pain, just achey!.!.!.take some tylenol!.
Nothing I can say will calm you down!.!.!.!.I'm a nervous patient too :-) But I've had 2 root canals!.!.!.!.and they are lots easier than I expected!.

They will numb your mouth to do the root canal (so you won't feel it really)!. It'll stay numb for a few hours after they finish, but all it could do is disrupt you from 1 meal (if it's dinner, you'd probably just be able to eat it later than usual)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Call the dentist and they can prescribe you medication that will relax you, usually take it about 1 hour before appointment time!. As for the pain afterword!.!.!.It varies person to person!.!.!.lol!.!.!.and there is always the pain meds to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Don't worry I've done 4!. I wont lie to you, It does hurt like someones pinching a bit hard, but thats all, you will be fine by Saturday :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
